Course Work

In this course, I explored Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and how GIS is used to collect, analyze, and display spatial data for problem-solving in various fields. I learned how to apply GIS skills in areas like environmental science, public safety, business, and more, while strengthening my ability to use maps as tools for analysis and decision-making.

This course taught me how to collect data about the Earth's surface without making any contact to the ground by using unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for remote sensing. UAS classifications, remote sensing methods, altitude estimations, flight controller design, and the use of single and multiple UASs for data collection and diffusion control are some of the subjects I have explored.

This course taught me how to develop a standard procedural framework for small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) that ensures  safe and professional operation. I created a framework for maintenance and inspection programs and a safety management system.

sUAS Maintenance and Repair

I gained the ability to diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and technological problems with unmanned aircraft systems weighing less than 55 pounds (sUAS). I learned about sUAS maintenance, system components, aircraft modifications, battery care, soldering, safety inspections, test flights, enhancements to software, and correct documentation through lectures and practical laboratories.
